The Indoor Swim For a Mile Challenge is returning with a select few pools for 2023. Event bookings open Wednesday December 14th with training commencing January 9th.

We’ve been working hard to improve the SFAM website to make event bookings simpler. You no longer need to create or login to a SFAM account to book an event, simply click the link within the events calendar to book. We hope you enjoy a smoother experience this year!
You will notice that the cost of entering a SFAM event has changed. SFAM is delivered by Swim Ireland, the national governing body for swimming, diving, water polo and artistic swimming in Ireland.
SFAM was originally a Sport Ireland, Women in Sport Funded programme, designed to encourage women back into the pool, but has become self sufficient in recent years and is open to all genders. Swim Ireland is a not for profit sporting body and we are not running SFAM commercially, but it does need to operate on a breakeven basis in order to be sustainable.
Entry costs have not risen in the 8 years of SFAM. This year we have taken the difficult decision to increase the entry cost to €40 (plus 7% processing fee) due to rising costs. However, you will still be able to avail of an early bird rate (€5 discount) up until January 6th 2023.
We think the entry fee represents great value for money. It includes event entry for the timed swim, event pack and access to paid technique clinics coached by International and Olympic swimmers (€10 per clinic). On top of this you can download the free 12-week training programme, complete with drill descriptions and demonstration videos.
